Chapter Text
We stayed in Chris' room for a little while and played video games.
“Luna c'mon let me beat your ass in mario kart” Nate said, handing me a controller “Sure, let’s see how hard you’re gonna lose” i took it and sat with him.
We were really going at it and I ended up winning “I think my controller is f*cked” he said defensively “Sure, sore loser” i reached up and ruffled his hair.
“Nick C’mon let’s do a round” Nate said and Nick took my seat.
I went and sat next to Matt on the bed. Chris was on the couch, with his back to us.
I could tell Matt was a little tense. I just rested my head on his shoulder. Sneaking down and taking his hand.
I felt like he was trying to be mad or something. But that all went out the window.
I leaned up and planted a soft kiss, just below his ear “You okay..?” I asked and he completely softened “Yeah”
I glanced to see if anyone was looking, and then I leaned up turning his chin towards me, kissing him softly.
He looked slightly nervous and his cheeks heated up a bit. It was absolutely adorable.
Then my phone rang, it was Alahna “Hi” i said excited “Hi, I seriously need help setting everything up. And you’re getting ready here right?” She asked “Yeah that’s probably best, do you need me to come now?” I asked and Nick turned “Yeah no rush of course” she said “Okay I’ll be there asap”
I put my phone down “Alahna is stressing, so i gotta go” i got up grabbing my bag “Wait, Nate are you coming later?” I asked “Of course” he smiled.
I of course ended up confessing everything to Alahna in the first 20 minutes. I could not keep a secret from her “Finally! Girl Matt has been in love with you since like senior year” she laughed.
“How come I’m the only one who didn’t know that?” I said “Because you had Mark for a little while, and then you and Chris happened” she said “Right..”
We were sitting and doing our makeup “So everyone is coming?” I asked “Yeah pretty much”
The thought of seeing everyone from highschool, made me really nervous. But luckily we drank a little before people started arriving.
Then the boys came, which made me so much more calm.
I ran down and let them in and practically jumped into Nick's arms “Hi” he chuckled and hugged me back.
The place filled up quickly, but it was already so fun.
Then Elmer came. I was so excited, because I hadn’t seen him in person for so long.
I was also a little drunk, so I ran up and hugged him.
He hugged back, his arms around my waist “Luna!” As we let go, I felt him slide his hands down almost too far, but I didn’t think much of it.
Matt point of view:
It was weird, I knew Nate knew how I felt, so he’d never do anything. But I couldn’t help the jealousy from bubbling up.
I thought it went away after she kinda reassured me and kissed my neck, which of course made me forget everything.
But then we arrived at the party. And Aahna had dressed her. Which meant she looked absolutely breathtaking, but also just a tad riskier than usual.
She was wearing knee high boots and a skirt and the fact that I couldn’t just go kiss her, made me very restless.
Then I watched, as she jumped up hugging Elmer. I watched his hands slide down her back.
Before the other day, I had never felt it this bad before. Because I didn’t know if she felt the same, so there was no reason to even feel jealousy.
But now that I knew, the thought of losing her was even worse. I had forgotten that she wasn’t just my best friend anymore.
She was so hot and very much the hottest girl here, in most places actually. Which meant that, I suddenly had a lot of competition.
Nicole walked up to me, as I was just watching Luna. We had dated in junior year, but were cool now “Still on that huh?”
“Unfortunately” I smiled, but knowing it was reciprocated now, helped a lot. “I really hope she realises it one day” she smiled “Yeah..”
Luna point of view:
I had been catching up with Elmer and then looked around for Matt. I spotted him with Nicole and felt my blood boil immediately. Of course they had dated, before he even knew me, but still.
She said something, that made him laugh, which I did not like.
Luckily Alahna dragged me along, to go dance.
“So nobody but me knows?” She whispered “Nope” I smiled and we continued to dance.
The alcohol was wearing off a little bit. My outfit felt too tight. I was having slight trouble breathing.
Alahna was next to me, flirting with some girl and I was dying.
I was trying to control my breathing. But I looked up and locked eyes with Matt across the room. The second we locked eyes, he knew instantly.
He walked over and just took my hand softly and led me through the crowd of people and upstairs.
“This way” she had locked everything, but the bathroom.
We went in and Matt locked the door behind us “You okay? What’s going on..?” He asked, in the most caring way possible.
I just couldn’t get the words out “It’s okay…no pressure” he smiled.
I backed up and jumped up on the countertop.
He stood kinda between my legs “It’s just you and me okay?..” he said and I calmed down a little.
“Just- a lot of people. Downstairs” i said “I know, i don’t think Alahna planned on this many people being here” he smiled softly “No she definitely didn’t”
“But we’re okay up here, just you and me. Take a deep breath for me..” he said and he took it with me.
“Good..” he smiled and I smiled softly. He was just perfect. Being so sweet to me. It was the fact that I knew, even if I hadn’t felt the same, he would still be there for me, no matter what. Because that’s just how he is.
“I told Alahna..” I confessed. “I told her to keep it a secret, but she’s had a lot to drink so I just thought you should know.” I explained “Alright..” he smiled.
“It’s gonna happen eventually” he said, taking my hands “Yeah..and uhm the people who saw us go up here, probably thought it too” i smirked lightly.
“sh*t I didn’t even think about that” he said, looking stressed “Don’t worry about it..” I lifted his chin.
I was still shaking, from the slight panic attack.
He took my hands again, intertwining our fingers “You feeling better..?” He asked “A little…it was just a lot downstairs” I admitted.
“Yeah I know…” he reached up, softly cupping my cheek, and then kissing me softly.
I was so excited, that he was making the move “Just need you to…relax” he continued to kiss along my jaw and go down my neck.
This was very surprising behaviour for Matt and I was absolutely loving it.
He continued kissing my neck, his hands moving down on my thighs.
He definitely left behind a couple marks, making me sigh softly.
His hands moved further up my thighs, but I felt him hesitate.
He pulled back from my neck, to look back up at me “Is this okay..?” He was being such a sweetheart “Yea..” I smiled and he kissed my lips softly, before going back to my neck.

“You feeling relaxed now..?” He smirked “Jesus Matt, I was really not expecting that…” I smiled, holding his face.
“Just figured i could help out” he said “Oh and you definitely did…” I was just looking into his eyes “I love you so much…” he confessed and I just kissed him again.
Then we heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
I quickly got off the counter “Wow” my legs were still shaky “You good?” Matt held me up, as i fixed my skirt “Yeah i think so” i chuckled.
He quickly fixed his pants and then we unlocked the door.
It was Elmer and some girl I didn't know “Hi” he smiled clearly high. “Hey” I chuckled and just grabbed Matt's hand, walking back downstairs.
We hesitantly let go of each other, as we reached the crowd of people.
“There you are! Where'd you go?” Alahna asked, then looked over at Matt immediately smirking. She reached up and high-fived him.
Later I was outside talking to Nate and some other guys from our highschool.
I was just laughing and had put a hand on Nate's shoulder.
Like a minute later, I felt Matt walk up behind me, very discreetly placing his hands on my waist. “Hi” I smiled adoringly up at him.
“Nick asked for you in the kitchen..” he leaned down to my ear and i got shivers “Oh okay” i just reached down holding Matt's hand as we were walking towards the kitchen.
Nick was crying and I was so confused.
“Omg what happened?” I kneeled down, since he was on a chair “I’ll give you guys a minute” Matt hesitantly let go of my hand and closed the door to the kitchen.
Nick continued to tell me that his ex had been here and they had apparently had a huge fight and he called Nick some gross things.
Then Alahna came in too and we just comforted Nick.
The party was slowly dying out and we decided that Nick and I were gonna sleep at Alahna’s, since we were going home tomorrow.
The house was now empty, except for us. Chris hugged Alahna goodbye “I’ll go wait in the car” he said and Nick and Alahna went into her room, leaving Matt and i.
I just wrapped my arms around his neck “You know I'd much rather be sleeping in your bed right..?” I said, as he pulled me in “Yeah I know” he smiled.
We pulled back slightly and he lifted my chin to kiss me softly.
It was so funny, how gentle and almost nervous he was again. When two hours ago, we were in a very different situation.
I kissed him back “Goodnight” I said really not wanting him to go “Goodnight..” he pecked my lips again and then walked downstairs.
I went into Alahnas room and luckily we just talked about Nick's drama, so I didn’t have to lie.
The next morning Nick and I walked back to their house and we packed up all of our stuff, before we went to the airport.
Nick and Chris went to check in our bags, so Matt and I had a minute alone. “You excited to go home..?” I asked “Well, like you said as well. My home is wherever you are…always has been actually” he said looking at me, in a way that made my heart ache.
“Stop being cute, when I can’t do anything about it..” i said “Oh, what would you do if you could..?” He smirked and I just rolled my eyes. “You know what I was thinking about?” I said “No, tell me”
“That I think it’s kinda sweet, that all of this happened while being home in boston… full circle moment you know?” I smiled and he smiled knowingly “Yeah I didn’t think about that..”
“Did you tell Alahna about last night..?” He asked and I smiled “No details no, figured that’s just for you and me..” I smiled and felt him reach down for my hand “My thoughts exactly…”
He glanced over at Nick and Chris still in line “God I really wish I could kiss you right now...” he said “Yeah me too..”
We got to the plane “Oh can i have the window seat? I’m feeling nauseous” i asked “Yeah, of course” Chris let me walk in first.
And before we could say anything Chris and Nick had sat down beside me. I just looked apologetically over at Matt.
It was a kinda long flight, so we were all just gonna sleep.
We were in the air and I'd put my headphones in. My music had gone on shuffle, so I pulled my phone up to change the song.
“Plane to Paris” came on, I looked to see Chris already looking at my phone, then at me. The way he looked at me made, my heart physically hurt.
I just reached down and grabbed his pinkie in mine. I could tell that meant a lot to him, as he smiled.
He then just leaned back and closed his eyes.
I know he had said it was okay, but I really didn’t wanna know, how he’d react when he knew that Matt and I were actually hooking up.
